Rules of the tournament!!

CRYcket  Cricket  Tournament

FORMAT

1.    There will be 3 leagues

a.    Men’s League

b.    Women’s League

c.    Children’s League

2.    Registration fee - $120 per team.

3.    Teams will be registered on a first come first serve basis. The registration will be complete ONLY after the entire registration amount is received from the team.

4.    Each team can consist of a maximum of 8 players of which only 6 can play in a match.

5.    Each inning will consist of 6 overs.

6.    The tournament will be played with taped tennis balls.

7.    Stumps and balls will be provided before each match. However, players are also encouraged to bring their own gear.

8.    The pitch will be set by the umpires

a.    19 yards for Men

b.    15 yards for Women

c.    X yards for Children (Yet to decide)

 

GENERAL RULES

1.    A player cannot play in more than one team in one league.

2.    Substitution of players will not be allowed during a match unless a player is injured.

3.    A team should not take more than 24 minutes to bowl their quota of 6 overs. If they do, the umpire can dock them 1 over for each extra 4 minutes.

4.    Games WILL go on if there is a typical Seattle drizzle. Only the neutral umpire can call the games off.

5.    There will be NO LBWs and NO Leg Byes

a.    If the ball hits the bat or the batsman’s wrist (gloves) then the batsman can take runs or be caught.

b.    If the ball hits any other part of the body,  the ball is dead and therefore there can be no run outs. The batsperson can still be stumped out.

6.    Each bowler will be allowed to bowl a maximum of 2 overs.

7.    No Ball (1 run + the runs scored off the ball) + Free hit on Next Bowl
The following are considered No Balls:

a.    Any full-toss above the waist

b.    Front feet completely out of the popping crease

c.    Any foot touching the side crease while bowling

d.    Any bouncer above the head

e.    A bowler failing to tell his action to the umpire before he comes on to bowl

f.     Chucking (only for men)

NOTE: Batsman can be run-out on a No ball.

8.    Wide (1 run + the byes resulting off the ball)

The following balls are considered Wide:

a.    Anything down the leg side is a Wide

b.    A marker will be placed outside the off stump to assist the umpire in determining Wide.

NOTE: Batsman can be run out, stumped or hit wicket on a wide ball.

9.    Dead Ball: If the ball pitches more than once before it crosses the stumps, it is a dead ball.

10. Overthrows and other regular cricket rules apply.

11. Last man batting will not be allowed.

12. Neutral umpires decision will be final and binding in all situations

 

MENS Cricket

1.    At least 5 bowlers have to bowl.

  1. There will be designated areas on the field, where if the ball goes through, it is 8 runs.

3.    All General Rules (In Section Above) Apply.

 

WOMENS Cricket

1.    As per ARCL league. http://arcl.org/

 

Kids Cricket

1.    Rules are the same as mens cricket.

2.    Games will be played with a tennis ball.

3.    Pitch will be shorter and boundaries will come in.
