DREAMS, the well known dance group from Seattle has been specializing in Bollywood dance ballets since 1999. They are a group of versatile performers who perform in the Indian classical, folk and Bollywood dance styles while melding various other influences including hip hop, jazz and ballroom dancing. The group initially started performing to Bollywood film songs in local community events. They then moved on to partnering with local music bands to perform in events like AllGoRythms and Raga2Rock. A few years back, DREAMS decided to strike out on their own and perform classic musicals translated into Hindi. Cinderella – A Bollywood Ballet in 2005 was their first such independent production. They performed Cinderella during CRY’s (Child Rights and You) RazzMatazz show to widespread acclaim and a standing ovation from the audience. After much demand for more productions of this type, DREAMS came back with several shows in the following years with all the shows being sold weeks in advance.
