On April 28th and 29th 2007, CRY Seattle organized Ina Mina Dika, a concert of Bollywood music.
The music was performed by popular Seattle-based Indian music band Shruti.
This was the ninth year that Shruti performed this concert in aid of Child Rights and You (CRY) Seattle.
To accommodate Shruti’s growing legion of fans, the concert was held on two days – Saturday and Sunday.
Over 1300 people attended the concerts.
Shruti entertained the audiences with a set of old Bollywood favorites mixed up with current hits.
Over the years, Shruti and CRY have introduced new twists to the traditional Bollywood music concert.
The ‘Dedications’ segment in 2006 was immensely successful as a number of audience members dedicated songs.
Building on that success, the year 2007 saw the introduction of ‘The Decibel Test’, a raucous audience feedback loop, ensuring that the most popular songs got pride of place in the Shruti setlist.
‘Sabse Bada Sikandar’ was a guitar solo performed by Shruti’s lead guitarist Prasanna Veeraswamy.
There was a live auction for this, with frenzied bidding, as members of the audience tried to outbid each other to corner this exclusive dedication for their loved ones.

Such innovations led to CRY raising over $23,000 from the two concerts combined, making this one of CRY Seattle’s biggest fund-raising events for the year.
